I'm just curious if doing a Kickstarter for this project has been discussed at all. I think there could be a lot of support for it and, from what I understand, it's not a difficult thing to start up. You would just have to put together a video of the current gameplay and maybe an interview with the creator discussing their plans and aspirations for the project and then put some advertising for it out on some social platforms like tumblr or facebook.
It's just an idea I'm throwing out there though and sometimes Kickstarter is not appropriate for every project.
