There are frequent posts pertaining to the progress of the EMU. The forum is a wealth of information. If you want to know something, just look around. It's almost guaranteed that any question you're going to ask has already been asked, in many cases over and over.
Here's one particular development thread. You'll learn a lot about the project by reading the whole thing, but skip to more recent posts for the latest skinny.
