That 'showing a little respect and humility?' Yeah, that's supposed to go in the opposite direction. Aren't you glad someone's working their ass off to bring a dead game back? Doesn't it make you want to respect that effort by taking a few moments to educate yourself, instead of demanding 'customer service?' Also, notice how long the project and forum have been around. In all this time, doesn't it stand to reason that the first question or idea that pops into your mind has been asked or proposed thousands of times by now?

Losing people who don't even bother to read the instructions doesn't harm the community. A hoard of whiners with their palms up is not a community, that's merely numbers. It makes sense from a financial standpoint to pander to these people if it's a subscription service. More bodies, more money. There's nothing for those people to do right now anyway. We waste all this time explaining things, and then they complain that nothing works and they leave. If they would have read anything, they'd already know nothing works, check out the city, and check in every few months. Lots of people do that, and if you're not a developer, that's all you can do.
If people want to get a better feel for how everyone in the community really is they should hang out in the irc chat.
