RE: Community Attitudes - bobiii84 - 01-10-2014 So I played MxO when it first came out for about a year I think it was and always hated that WoW beat it out of existence. I have since tried WoW and the storyline is funny but other than that I'm not impressed. Sure now WoW has polished graphics and hilarious story lines, but they didn't used to. As a matter of fact, I frequently mention that MxO, in it's infancy, was a far better game than WoW was at the same stage. The problem, in my opinion, is that WoW had an existing cult following from all it's previous iterations of the game, that eventually beat out MxO. That mixed with the low graphics card requirements I think is what did it for them. I absolutely LOVED the interlock system and the slowed time that they used. It was ahead of it's time, and I still go crazy thinking about it sometimes. In truth I assume you all do too, or you wouldn't be here RE: Community Attitudes - bitbomb - 01-10-2014 Plus WoW was already around a year-ish before MxO, so it already had a subscriber base by the time MxO got started. A lot of people at the time saw WoW as the AOL of MMOs, like it was the original MMO or something. How can you get on the internet without AOL? |
