MxOEMU Player Commands
-Last revision 2022-08-4-

MxOEMU player commands are entered into the chat input like normal commands. However, instead of being preceded by a "/" (forward slash), they are preceded by an "&" (ampersand), and were never available during live. They are features that Rajko designed into the MxOEMU server and can be useful for exploration, playing animations and effects, putting on RSI masks (appearing as nearly any character or object in the game), etc.

NOTE: Copy and Paste hotkeys are not the standard CTRL+C/CTRL+V we're used to. Copy is CTRL+HOME, and paste is CTRL+INS. You also cannot append to the input window, CTRL+INS will overwrite the entire input.

Appearance Reloading
One of the most basic player commands allows you to tell the game server to update your appearance for all connected clients. This is only necessary if you're editing your appearance using the web based character editor instead of purchasing clothing from vendors and equipping it via your inventory, or using the &gib command (detailed below)

Usage
&update - Once you've hit 'Save Appearance' on the web based character editor, typing this command in MxO chat will reload your appearance to reflect the changes. These changes will be visible to all players.

the &gib Command - Add items to inventory by Object ID
Looking for specific clothing that you just can't find via vendors or item lists? Check out 20X6's 'Mega City Fashions!' - https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1JDz2J5XaTHwRCKHWzxE8vQJVT2fT8_FuMbGjVH9T-88/edit#slide=id.gd856b6a1c1_0_768

Setting your Organization
At the moment, your organization affiliation only affects your player profile, and how your name appears to others.

Usage
&org (Organization) - Supported organizations are Neutral, Zion, Machine, and Merovingian

Movement
1 unit in map coordinates represents 1 meter in the game world. Typically, building floors are 4 meters tall, so to go up or down a standard height floor, you would use &incy 4 or &incy -4 respectively. This was a necessity to navigate buildings before elevators became functional, but it's still useful for shortcuts and exploration.

Usage - where (value) is a positive or negative number
&incy (value) - Move UP (positive) or DOWN (negative)
&incx (value) - Move EAST (positive) or WEST (negative)
&incz (value) - Move NORTH (positive) or SOUTH (Negative)

Example:
&incy 1 - Moves the player one meter upward
&incy -4 - Moves the player one standard floor downward (though not all buildings have 4 meter tall floors).

&gothru - Move 1 meter in the direction you're facing, regardless of navmesh. Move through walls, prop doors, etc.

Teleportation
You can teleport either to another player, or to specific coordinates. However you must be in the same district as the player or the coordinates you wish to teleport to. Teleporting to a player in a district other than your own will simply result in a warning message. But teleporting to coordinates that correspond to a location in a different district will almost inevitably bring you somewhere off the map (underground, in the sky, etc). If this happens, you will either need to use the /who command to see if anyone else is in your district and teleport to them by name, or use arbitrary coordinates somewhere on the map such as '&gotopos 10 10 10' and then walk/jump your way back to solid ground. Alternatively, in the web based player editor there is an option for each character to always go through the loading area. If you use this option, you can just jack out and jack back in and you can use the loading area to choose which hardline you'd like to spawn at.

&gotoplayer (playername) - This command teleports you to the specified player's exact location, if they're online and in your district.
&gotopos (x y z) - This command will teleport you to the specified coordinates. These are useful for reaching areas of the map that are not accessible by walking, such as the white halls, the white detention rooms and the org areas. If you wish to explore off-map areas, make sure you are in the district that the coordinates refer to. For a list of all teleport-only locations including the white halls, white detention rooms, org areas, and more, see this post.

Playing FX
There are tons of FX in the game that you can play, and there's a complete list of each one's ID. It will take some digging, but at least each FX has at least a bit of a description.
Here's the complete FX list.

Usage:
&playfx (FXID) - The FXID is the hex value at the beginning of each line.

Example: This will play the Codebomb FX
&playfx DE00004F

Playing Animations
This is where much of the combat animations are, among other things. In this list the ID refers to the second column, not the first. Here is the complete animations list.

Example: - This is a the Piston Kicks animation from the list. The line below is how it appears in the animations list.
390e 0e39 = W_A_SRSM_WLb_PistonKicks

Use the second hex value as the ID and type the following into your chat input bar.

&playanim 0e39

Playing Actions
Actions are more animations with distinctions that are beyond the scope of this basic guide. Here is the list of each action.

Usage:
&playaction (ID) - The ID is the hex value at the beginning of each line.

Example: - To play the sweepkick action, type the following into the chat input bar
&playaction 42

RSI Masks
RSI masks refer to an appearance that alters your 'risidual self image.' They can be NPCs, bosses, and lots of other things.
This file is the complete list of .moa, and each line already has the &setmask command included. You can just copy the command and the first ID and paste it into the chat window.

Usage:
&setmask (ID)

Example: - (This rez ID is one of one of the Oligarchs)
&setmask 040005B7

To remove an RSI mask, use the following:
&setmask 0

Note: Some RSI masks have FX, and these FX will persist even after the mask is removed/changed. Simply use a hardline to shed the FX.

Combat Stance
In order to make the weapon(s) you have equipped visible, and for animations that involve them to incorporate them, you must be in combat stance. You must first acquire a weapon from a fight club vendor. At the time of this writing, all fight club vendors sell weapons except the single fight club in Downtown, located in Edgewater. You will notice that many weapons require abilities you do not yet possess, but you can gain abilities by using a hardline and clicking 'Abilities.'

&angry - Enters combat stance
/stand - Returns to normal stance

Copy each of following and paste them into the game chat using CTRL+INS to create macros for the free attack animations for each weapon type. You must have the corresponding weapon type equipped for the animation to work properly. Weapons can be acquired from fight club weapons vendors (or with the &gib command)

/macro PISTOL &playAnim 0edf
/macro SUBM &playAnim 0ee1
/macro RIFLE &playAnim 0ee0
/macro DUALP &playAnim 0edd
/macro DSUBM &playAnim 0ede
/macro KNIFET &playAnim 1196

Nice man, thanks for updating.

Could you add the commands for Copy/paste into the chat box? For some reason I NEVER remember that.

RE: Guide to MxOEMU Player Commands - bitbomb - 23-05-2021

Thanks, added the key combos for copy and paste in Mixo. Copy is CTRL+HOME, paste is CTRL+INS. Also, pasting into the chat input window will overwrite anything that was there before, so you need to copy the whole command.

For &playfx and &playanim command list, I recommend this really nice sheet from PS10N for easy copy-pasting and macros: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Se2w9KhO1j2jHRJjTUx3WPB7EvIb7Ed1VmIJyf3JPIY/edit?usp=sharing
And for &gib list, if you don't want to download the text file, you can view it online here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vqvrlc6bvtk6l75/invitems.txt
Some nice, desirable examples of masks, animations and fx can be found at the end of this guide: http://mxoemu.info/forum/showthread.php?tid=2243
