whats appserv ?
you just need a mysql db

RE: Idiot's Guide to Installing MxOE - MajTom - 24-01-2011

the appserv on the first post of this thread:
" http://sourceforge.net/projects/appserv/...e/download (This sets up the localserver)"
if all that is needed is the mysql db then the "how to" needs to be updated and adjusted
showing how to set that up.

would that be MySQL Workbench 5.2.31a?

I had noted how old and out of date this was quite a few pages ago, and I created a guide on mxosource.com that includes XAMPP -- a far less intrusive Apache/SQL "server" to make things run smoothly and without forcing services into Windows.

Up to you if you want to use it. For your purposes, sure, Appserv will work fine. It's just overkill is all.

RE: Idiot's Guide to Installing MxOE - MajTom - 24-01-2011

That still runs it with an internet connection then?

I think Raj is saying there is a way to run it with out an internet connection true standalone

RE: Idiot's Guide to Installing MxOE - rajkosto - 25-01-2011

why would you need an internet connection to run servers on your machine ?

I remember having trouble running the stand alone (with appserv) without an internet connection. May be a port thing.
