Still worth the time?

So The Matrix Online has been a thought in my mind for the past several years, however, only now have i found the actual time to sit down and fully decide whether or not i want to spend time figuring it out. Only to find out that it had already been shut down, and basically discontinued.

So my question is, are there plenty of private servers up with players still playing? or would i be wasting my time trying this late in the game?
