MxOEMU Player Commands
=Last revision 2024-05-19=

MxOEMU player commands are entered into the chat input like normal commands. However, instead of being preceded by a "/" (forward slash), they are preceded by an "&" (ampersand), and were never available during live. They are features that Rajko designed into the MxOEMU server and can be useful for exploration, playing animations and effects, putting on RSI masks (appearing as nearly any character or object in the game), etc.

NOTE: Copy and Paste hotkeys are not the standard CTRL+C/CTRL+V we're used to. Copy is CTRL+HOME, and paste is CTRL+INS. You also cannot append to the input window, CTRL+INS will overwrite the entire input.

Appearance Reloading
One of the most basic player commands allows you to tell the game server to update your appearance for all connected clients. This is only necessary if you're editing your appearance using the web based character editor instead of purchasing clothing from vendors and equipping it via your inventory, or using the &gib command (detailed below)

Usage
&update - Once you've hit 'Save Appearance' on the web based character editor, typing this command in MxO chat will reload your appearance to reflect the changes. These changes will be visible to all players.

Adding items to your inventory
Any inventory item can be acquired using the &gib command, you just need the item's object ID. You can &gib yourself anything, from clothing, to equipment, weapons, anything we need.

Usage
&gib (Object ID)

Complete list of all items for use with &gib command (copy/paste friendly version): https://files.mxoemu.info/invitems_command.txt

Looking for specific clothing that you just can't find via vendors or item lists? Check out 20X6's 'Mega City Fashions!' - https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1...a1c1_0_768

Setting your Organization
At the moment, your organization affiliation only affects your player profile, and how your name appears to others.

Usage
&org (Organization) - Supported organizations are Neutral, Zion, Machine, and Merovingian

Movement
1 unit in map coordinates represents 1 meter in the game world. Typically, building floors are 4 meters tall, so to go up or down a standard height floor, you would use &incy 4 or &incy -4 respectively. This was a necessity to navigate buildings before elevators became functional, but it's still useful for shortcuts and exploration.

Usage - where (value) is a positive or negative number
&incy (value) - Move UP (positive) or DOWN (negative)
&incx (value) - Move EAST (positive) or WEST (negative)
&incz (value) - Move NORTH (positive) or SOUTH (Negative)

Example:
&incy 1 - Moves the player one meter upward
&incy -4 - Moves the player one standard floor downward (though not all buildings have 4 meter tall floors).

&gothru - Move 1 meter in the direction you're facing, regardless of navmesh. Move through walls, prop doors, etc.

Teleportation
You can teleport either to another player, or to specific coordinates. However you must be in the same district as the player or the coordinates you wish to teleport to. Teleporting to a player in a district other than your own will simply result in a warning message. But teleporting to coordinates that correspond to a location in a different district will almost inevitably bring you somewhere off the map (underground, in the sky, etc). If this happens, you will either need to use the /who command to see if anyone else is in your district and teleport to them by name, or use arbitrary coordinates somewhere on the map such as '&gotopos 10 10 10' and then walk/jump your way back to solid ground. Alternatively, in the web based player editor there is an option for each character to always go through the loading area. If you use this option, you can just jack out and jack back in and you can use the loading area to choose which hardline you'd like to spawn at.

&gotoplayer (playername) - This command teleports you to the specified player's exact location, if they're online and in your district.
&gotopos (x y z) - This command will teleport you to the specified coordinates. These are useful for reaching areas of the map that are not accessible by walking, such as the white halls, the white detention rooms and the org areas. If you wish to explore off-map areas, make sure you are in the district that the coordinates refer to. For a list of all teleport-only locations including the white halls, white detention rooms, org areas, and more, see this post.

Playing FX
There are tons of FX in the game that you can play, and there's a complete list of each one's ID. It will take some digging, but at least each FX has at least a bit of a description.
Here's the complete FX list.

Usage:
&playfx (FXID) - The FXID is the hex value at the beginning of each line.

Example: This will play the Codebomb FX
&playfx DE00004F

Playing Animations
This is where much of the combat animations are, among other things. In this list the ID refers to the second column, not the first. Here is the complete animations list.

Example: - This is a the Piston Kicks animation from the list. The line below is how it appears in the animations list.
390e 0e39 = W_A_SRSM_WLb_PistonKicks

Use the second hex value as the ID and type the following into your chat input bar.

&playanim 0e39

Playing Actions
Actions are more animations with distinctions that are beyond the scope of this basic guide. Here is the list of each action.

Usage:
&playaction (ID) - The ID is the hex value at the beginning of each line.

Example: - To play the sweepkick action, type the following into the chat input bar
&playaction 42

RSI Masks
RSI masks refer to an appearance that alters your 'risidual self image.' They can be NPCs, bosses, and lots of other things.
This file is the complete list of .moa, and each line already has the &setmask command included. You can just copy the command and the first ID and paste it into the chat window.

Usage:
&setmask (ID)

Example: - (This rez ID is one of one of the Oligarchs)
&setmask 040005B7

To remove an RSI mask, use the following:
&setmask 0

Note: Some RSI masks have FX, and these FX will persist even after the mask is removed/changed. Simply use a hardline to shed the FX.

Combat Stance
In order to make the weapon(s) you have equipped visible, and for animations that involve them to incorporate them, you must be in combat stance. You must first acquire a weapon from a fight club vendor. At the time of this writing, all fight club vendors sell weapons except the single fight club in Downtown, located in Edgewater. You will notice that many weapons require abilities you do not yet possess, but you can gain abilities by using a hardline and clicking 'Abilities.'

&angry - Enters combat stance
/stand - Returns to normal stance

Copy each of following and paste them into the game chat using CTRL+INS to create macros for the free attack animations for each weapon type. You must have the corresponding weapon type equipped for the animation to work properly. Weapons can be acquired from fight club weapons vendors (or with the &gib command)

/macro PISTOL &playAnim 0edf
/macro SUBM &playAnim 0ee1
/macro RIFLE &playAnim 0ee0
/macro DUALP &playAnim 0edd
/macro DSUBM &playAnim 0ede
/macro KNIFET &playAnim 1196

Hey guys. I've checked out all the instructions I could find, and can't find any answers for this problem. I've seen people mention it, but no resolution.
I created an account on the main site, created my character, downloaded the MatrixOnline.7z and the 7.6003p_patcher.zip files, extracted them, overwrote any existing files (renamed them to .old), and started it up, with no success. The launcher will open, but it will give me the error no matter if I check the toggle for "Patch: Full System Check" or not. I've run as admin, as well. Disabled any firewall / antivirus apps..

The launcher gives me the error popup:

Patch system error (result code -47)
URL open failed. Patch servers down or Internet Connection problem.

Then in the launcher itself, it shows: Received unexpected result code from patcher (0).

Anyone have any ideas? I had no idea this emu was in existence at all, and I absolutely LOVED MxO from beta testing it, forward. I got a bit giddy to even be able to jump around like we used to, just to have it destroyed when I can't get past the launcher. I'm fairly well-versed in general computer stuff, just not into coding or anything particularly useful, so please feel free to get technical in your response if needed; I should be able to follow just fine.

Thanks, and hope to see some of you in game!

Everything went fine, even the account information got authenticated (I entered the same account registered at the mxoemu.info website.).
Also, when I launch the server, I can login, but then I need to create a character, and it gets stuck at the name creation...
EDIT: Now, when launching via the server way with my character created, it loads until the ingame part, then just sticks a wall of matrix code in my face...Help?

Sorry for the formatting errors or misrepresenting numbers.
highlighted value is the number of hotbar entries. All addresses after 0010 are variable based on number of entries in the hotbar.

0000:00 Is always 0200 0000?
0000:04 Count/size in bytes of the hotbar slot data
0000:08 always 0100 0000
0000:0C Number of entries in the hotbar This one has 0x5D or 93 entries which just appear to be one after another
first entry "/macro a.decoy &playfx 28000653"
0010:00 1 byte for hotbar, 1 byte for slot
0010:02 0400 0000 FFFF FFFF 4 words that I only see on /macro entries
0010:0A 0700 0000 dword length of the macro's name string
0020:0C 1000 0000 dword length of the content of the macro 16
0050:00 0001 hotbar 0, slot 1
0050:02 0400 0000 FFFF FFFF another /macro entry etc

Another one with 15 entries based on assumption that there are 15 "0400 0000 FFFF FFFF" entries because I filled up the hotbar with 15 /macro's

0000:04 empty hotbar takes up 2C bytes?
0000:0C even though 0 hotbar icons

I dragged two inventory icons into the hotbar one to bar/slot 3/3 (0202)
the other to bar/slot 4/5 (0304) in the pic above, zero based index'ing
0010:00 1 byte bar, 1 byte slot
0010:02 0200 0000 0400 0000 2 words for ???? and 2 words for inventory position
0010:0A E08C 0000 0000 0038 ??
0020:02 1 byte bar, 1 byte slot
0020:04 0200 0000 0600 0000 2 words for ???? and 2 words for inventory position (screenshot later)
0020:0C 3DA8 0000 0000 001C clothing identifiers?

the clothing entries in the hotbar both have 0200 0000, which could be a count or a type indicating clothing. The second dword is inventory location.
the last 4 words picture number and actual item number???

Same field highlighted but with hacker style and a gun for the freefire/ranged fire. Note the hat and shirt in position 4 and 6 of inventory and shotgun in position D. When putting the trenchcoat in the hotbar I got The value E as expected.
and @ 0050:06 0D00 0080 C81E 0000 0000 0024
No clue what the 80 means (inventory equiped slot location? hand location? flags?)

0040:00 is 65, starting at 0040:00 there is exactly ox65 bytes left in the file. I see this across multiple cui.cfg's

0040:08 is 5100 0000 another end file constant
The end seems to have 0x51 bytes which look like 00 or 01 flags to me. I havne't tried changing any of them, but I noticed this is the reason the contents is always of an odd file size.
Ends in FFFF FFFF 0x00 0000 sometimes its a 0300 0000 othertimes a 0200 0000 Don't know what it means.
also

0000:04 is a count of data including itself 0x2c meaning the range of
04-2F
0030:00 has the value 0x10 meaning the range of

Would it be possible to extract all of the maps, models, sounds, textures, and things from the MXO client and reformat them to recreate MXO with another game engine? I know some of the more unique elements of MXO like interlock, hyperjump, the mission generator, and seemless map loading could be difficult to recreate and would likely need recoded from scratch.
I have no doubt that it would be a monumental task. However, if it can be done, it could result in having a newer, better game engine that is easier to work with than the original. With all the same maps and models, it would have the same look and feel as the original MXO.
It is a crazy idea but could it work? Or have I lost my mind?
