The Building Shootout Scene was Kinda Messed Up!!!

That's kinda messed up. The security guards were just innocent people plugged into the Matrix. They had no idea about Morpheus or who the agents were. And yet Neo killed them as if he was killing NPC video game characters.

Neo and Trinity could have easily subdued them with hand to hand combat and knocked them out. Or they could found another way into the building to rescue Morpheus. Or they could have just taken a chopper right from the beginning and done that minigun rescue stunt straight away.

That's one really confusing thing about this movie. Neo and Trinity are both supposedly the good guys but they showed no sadness or hesitation in killing innocent people.

As Morpheus said to Neo in the woman in the red dress training scenario: "If you are not one of us, you are one of them". An agent can take over any hardware still plugged in to the matrix so best to kill them off so no agent interference.
