Hey guys!
So I was reminded of MxO recently, and thought I'd see what the old community is like after all these years and I found this! Just wondering what the state of the emulator is? Fully playable? Is the storyline integrated too? Im pretty interested.
Welcome back btw, nice to see new people pop up. Please don't be put off by the current big names of the project if they decide to rage here... despite my distaste for some peoples attitudes on the project its being done, very well at that and we couldn't have it without them... But there are reasons companies never let the code monkey's out to socialise with the community :p
It's just distaste for people who join a forum and post before reading anything. Who goes to anyone's community and does that? I've never once happened upon a new scene and immediately started blabbing, asking questions. I figure 'there's a forum. I bet any question I have, since I just got here, has already been asked. I will spend a few days reading up so I know what's going on.' That's what the rage is about. It's lazy, rude, and disrespecful to just barge in and ask stuff with the assumption that 'Gee, I must be the first and only person ever to want to know what's going on.' A 'Hey, guys' post usually comes after taking a look around. Seems reasonable, doesn't it?
Otherwise, what is the point of a forum? A question is asked once, and it stays searchable forever. It's neat!
Generally, it's the people who came and got less than helpful responses because they were the billionth person to start a redundant thread asking a very basic question that's been answered countless times (hint: search) that like to think this community is full of big meanies. It's not. It's a great community full of cool people.
The people that got REALLY raged on were almost always asking questions that are answered on THE FRONT PAGE of http://www.mxoemu.info. I'm sure you can understand that a few years of 'please read the front page/FAQ before posting' gets old. The FAQ is at the top of pretty much every section of the forum, in 'important threads.' It's marked 'READ HERE FIRST' in capital letters. 'First,' as in, before posting.
Welcome to the emu project. It's got a ways to go but it's going.
Mission accomplished, Notice the newbie didn't get raged at for asking if the game was finished? :p
Then you clearly have a distaste for a lot of people... If your part of any forum you know people just don't do that and you'd be naive to think here to be any different. Ask any game forum moderator or Community officer and they'll tell you they spend half their time quoting and re-quoting stuff for these exact people. Answering retarded questions that someone has already thrown up on facebook/twitter/front page/stickied thread... and still someone will make a new post asking.
We've had this discussion before however and we know morals/attitudes differ, I don't expect it to change any time soon so I try and beat you to the punch although maybe I should refrain from the sly dig :/ I followed it with a compliment though? :p

RE: Hey guys!
So we should just bow down to the newbies and answer the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again just because they can't be bothered to LOOK AROUND and READ?
We've been dealing with this for YEARS with an uncountable number of posts in FOUR communities (well, some of us had spent a little bit of time at each community). Just because "that's how it is," doesn't make it right.
Yeah, maybe Rajko should quit working on anything and answer all newbies. That way, he can just say the same thing every time. "Is it done yet? Nope, too busy answering forum posts lol."
The very fact they employ a person to do the job says enough, but no that's not what I said nor implied. It would be less time consuming and a more effective to say: draft a standard, non-insulting, imnotfedupwiththisshit kinda post hell just link the FAQ and leave them be... Didn't Disney teach you anything?

Really dude, no one needs you to save them. If people post stupid stuff, the reaction is not for you to decide. As you like to point out, people post stupid stuff on forums, then they get flamed. Too bad.
Take the baby Disney stuff elsewhere...how old are you girl?
