Interesting error
So I was trying to install Raj's MxoEmuTestServer.msi, and it successfully downloaded. However I got this error.

Did anyone else get this error when trying to run the .msi file?

Not sure, but if you use the .bat files I have on http://blog.mxosource.com under "environment setup," it will work.

It looks like you used the Installer for TW's server as well as trying to use it for Rajko's server, so I guess they don't play nice.

My setup will play nice.

Awesome, thanks. Yea I have two folders, one for localserver and one for TW's server. I'm trying to set up a folder for Raj's. That way I can switch back and forth between the three.

^^^ that's how things should be done (unless you are a backup master).

I really think it's kind of crazy to have two or three MxO folders.

With a tiny bit of editing and backing up, it's really easy to create an automated process (i.e. the batch files I made) to do the dirty work for you.

For once, I disagree with you Morph.

RE: Interesting error
if you can't spare 2-3*mxo size GB, then your hd is kinda small for today standards.

i wouldnt have more than 1 server per folder, based on config to the profiles subfolder, the useropts, the bats, the exes....

i even hate to edit hosts to go to localhost... so... that.
can be done with scripts, but believe me, i'm tired of scripts at the moment... and i have not yet started.

man, i even have it on a portable hd, which can chandle more than 2 copies lol. Although right, i got only 1 there.

Ok, what I MEAN by folders is that I have folders inside the MxO folders. One of them is _localserver one is _TW and now one is _Reality. I have all the necessary files for each server in each folder. When I want to play on TW's server, I just copy and paste the files from _TW onto the main MxO folder. So I only have one MxO folder, but three folders inside the MxO folder that houses the files required for each servers.

I have a 500GB HD, and I'm hoping to upgrade to 1TB soon, but I still like to save as much HD space as possible. Never know when you'll need the HD space for porn. Cool

i just porn-stream. it's the future and saves space!

jk.

i'm fighting to skip useropts changing (tricking the exe in memory), putting a new exe launcher, but i got a bit to-do list.

Also i usually change things in the game files (haha adventurer), so having backups saves lifes.. Tongue

RE: Interesting error
Well, what we need is a Launcher that you can change the servers to on the fly.

Maybe not NEED, but it would be neat-o.

Then useropts changing wouldn't be a big deal, because it would be changed by the launcher when you choose what server you're going to.

RE: Interesting error
Thank you very much for your multiple launchers in one folder installation guide QuiDormit!

I used to have multiple MxO folders.. but its just easier and takes up less space (even though I have a 1 Tb HD.)

Its so much cleaner too. So thank you!
