You have misunderstood what the emu is.

In this very thread, Rajkos says there is no gameplay in the emu. There is nothing to play. He leaves the server out there for us to explore and hang out in. Nostalgia.
I go online once in a while just to see the city, hear the music etc.

He is rewriting the game from scratch using UE4, the project is far from dead.

So while you are passing your judgment on how dead it is, he is busy writing code and figuring shit out so maybe someday there will be a game to PLAY.
I didn't said absolutely dead i was trying to say that everyone's just too inactive,and i know what he meant by no gameplay.
I basically only leave it up to debug shaders and look at effects, would you rather there be nothing ?
I would say that it might be better to hang out and idle in the dev chat on IRC. You can see some activity, some discussion (not all mxo related) and some screenshots of Rajko's work.

If more people were in the chat, we could even organize meetups in the mxo emu, even if it has nothing working. You know with animations,effects etc, you *could* setup an RP game (Shadowrun style) and get the DM to do the combat rolls etc, maybe use Shadowrun rules.

Alternatively, people could try and get Reality (old codebase) and try to build something. If you have questions, there is a developer's section on the forums (or chat).
