I do agree though that there seems to be a lack of cool original material. Reboots and spins on old classics for MONEY.

Some are good (the upcoming mad max movies getting a lot of buzz) , but another Batman, another Spiderman, REALLY? So a matrix reboot FEELS like it could happen, but no time soon Im sure, if ever.

Also, Im a Star Wars fan, and looking forward to the new movies - but really that just nostalgia. Its a 40 year old property ffs.

Whos going to make the next Star Wars, Matrix etc?
I really hope Disney doesn't screw up Star Wars. I know there will be hardcore old school fans that wont be happy unless its perfect but I am worried it will become a kids movie.

JJ Abrams' Star Wars can't possibly be worse than George Lucas' sequels. Dude used to make great movies like American Graffiti and THX 1138, plus the first 3 SW films of course. But he became one of the most heavy handed storytellers ever, and even went back on his whole 'to go back and change a film is a sin' or whatever he said. Now you can't get an un-gay version of the first three films on Bluray.

This was proven false 4 years ago.

No one cares about The Matrix anymore.

Trying to figure out if this is true or not.

Its the exact same report as the other article, just with added words.

Not true.

Again, no one cares about the Matrix anymore.
Yeah it sounds like yet another rehash of the Latino Review article that was made up, that tons of other sites quoted over and over. This round seems to mostly be citing IMDB:

Hard to tell. But the Wachowski's haven't made a great movie since the original Matrix (The sequels should have been one movie with the fluff like 20 minute fight scenes trimmed down a lot. And lose the stupid Zion rave). I liked Cloud Atlas, the rest is pretty tepid. Who knows, though.
