Restore?

Just a quick question, is anyone still working to restore this game to its former glory or has that project been forgotten? I pre-ordered this game back in the day, got beta code and couldn't play due to my parents shi**y computer. Then after the game released, i still couldn't play due to the same reasons.... I'd love to see how this game operated in its hayday, outside of youtube that is. I heard great things from the community and was truly heartbroken once i saw the videos of the day it all ended. At any rate, i'll be on the emu for now.

I'm sure this has been asked before and answered elsewhere.... but why didn't SoE release the source code? Did they give us an answer?

Welcome, man. They have no reason to release the source, that hardly ever happens and I don't think any high budget MMO's source has ever been released. All kinds of proprietary tech and methods, and not worth paying someone to do it. It's on some backup somewhere in some basement, everyone's moved on and it'll never be touched again. Plus they can't sell it, too much joint ownership/licensing.
